From Estonia this duo are the synthesis of all that is essential to integrating traditional music with contemporary technology and bringing something that is both new and beautiful.

The duo is formed by two complimentary artists but from very different musical backgrounds, one being Catlin Magi a talented and highly respected traditional musician, a leading exponent of the Estonian bagpipe and flautist, singer and musicologist; in fact she's also a lecturer in traditional music at Tallin University in Estonia and Tiit Kikas an established composer and performer having played in many different styles and with a multitude of bands and artists both in Estonia and abroad, also composing music for movies, theatre and original TV and Radio productions. Nominated for the "Suur Vanker" prize as the best arranger and the best instrumentalist of the year. The album of Kirile Loo "Lullabies for Husbands" which has been arranged and produced by Tiit Kikas, stayed in the TOP 20 of the European World Music Chart for three months. The album "Dagö", arranged by Tiit Kikas, won the first prize as the best Estonian folk album of the year.

The musical union of Cätlin Mägi and Tiit Kikas combines the musical legacy hardened by thousands of years with the universe of electronic sounds created by high-tech gadgets. Cätlin who plays archaic Estonian wind instruments and Kikas who composes with samplers in his own universe navigate the past and can predict the future. Their synergy gives birth to the time machine called Aparaat - a timeless music and lighting show which lets the audience wander around in time through rhythm and sound.
