Duo Bottasso (Italy)

The Bottasso brothers, Nicolò on violin and Simone on diatonic accordion, play their own compositions and reinterpretations of folk songs. Always looking for a bridge between the delicacy on their instruments and the explosive energy that never fails to these two young musicians: all bound by the desire to keep evolving the tradition of their homeland.

2014 Duo Bottasso released their first album Crescendo, featuring many guests. Cresendo is the story of two brother musicians rooted in the dance music of the Occitan region of Italy, aiming following paths of new compositions and improvisation, having played in many festivals and working as directors and teachers for the orchestral project Folkestra & Folkoro.

Second album Biserta e altre storie (Biserta and other stories), released in 2018 including the soundscape artist Simone Sims Longo. The common thread of the album used as the soundtrack of documentary "Biserta. Storia a spirale" (Biserta: Spiral Stories - Cosenude Media Projects, 2018), composed and performed by Duo Bottasso.
