Jean-Luc Gueneau and Gilles Poutoux (Central France)

Jean-Luc Gueneau and Gilles Poutoux are without a doubt two iconic musicians from the French folk revival which started in the 70s and 80s. They created a band, FUBU (1981 - 1986) which became influential and iconic in the renaissance of traditional music from central France. Over the intervening years they have become part of the fabric of the French folk scene playing in many renowned bands in Jean Luc's part the superb Le Gop.

They were also a key ingredient of the superb band FUBU who played for several years back in the 80s and created some truly magnificent music which still forms part of the French trad music canon today played by musicians far and wdie. After they finished their journey with FUBU they went on different musical paths, each to nurture and refine their own instrumental practice.

Their common passion the music of central France is now showcased in this new duo, with accordion diatonique ( Mélodéon ) Vielle à roue (Hurdy Gurdy) the repertoire of Morvan and Nivernais and original compositions, offering a rich distillation of their great decades long experience, mixed with some verve and passion. A true pleasure for all audiences whether they are playing for a concert or a dance.
