In 2008 at the befamed Shetland Folk Festival, Rory Ellis, Perry Stenbäck and Steffan Sørensen met whilst performing in different acts. However, they forged great friendships from across the waters and it was decided that these bonds were so strong, that a musical partnership should be formed..They performed an amazing debut show in Mors, Denmark, with little or no rehearsal time, and then managed to perform a series of shows at the 2012 Shetland festival to rave reviews, huge CD sales and incredible crowd response..
Rory Ellis has performed at major festivals across Australia for many years as well as performing all over the UK, performing with greats like Richie Havens and Eric Bibb along the way. In 2012, Rory completed his 6th Studio album "Twisted Willow" as well as performing at one of the worlds largest Country Music Festivals, Tamworth, among many others, to rave reviews from audiences and venues alike.
However, he is an artist that is impossible to pigeonhole - with the blues man in him, soul belter, red-dirt country as well as being a home grown folkie. The Devils Right Hand consists of Swedish born multi-instrumentalist Perry Stenbäck, who has performed with most of the major names in the Danish music industry as well as picking up several Grammy nominations and awards - including best instrumentalist in 2009. On Upright bass is the incredible Steffan Sørensen, who is also a winner of several Danish Music Industry awards, both having performed on too many albums and festivals to mention.
This band is truely "deadly", and an awesome live experience..
