The Gaslight Troubadours (UK)

Yes, its steampunk "par excellence" and available now through Frusion for multiple territories, oh yes! And in their own words they are...

Once described by a BBC radio producer as the 'darker, more twisted cousin of Public Service Broadcasting", The Gaslight Troubadours produce a hybrid cut n'paste sound of twisted beats with electro-swing and steampunk, or even "steamfunk", tendencies. If DJ Shadow had been born in the UK and discovered the sampledelic joys of Sherlock Holmes and Hammer Horror-style B-movies instead of funk and soul, then he could've ended up sounding more like this...

Played by, and being interviewed on BBC 6Music, receiving a 4-star review for their first album Clockwork Curiosities in MOJO magazine, appearing at numerous festivals including Latitude, WOMAD and the Steampunk Yule Ball, and having recorded with Soft Cell legend Marc Almond and chap-hop hero Professor Elemental (The Nanty Narking EP (feat. Professor Elemental)) they are now entering a new phase with singer Fey Pink and demon scratch DJ Victor Vector performing live alongside founder Professor Purblind.

Their second full player entitled 'Stranger Swings' was released on Halloween (31st October) 2018. Featuring the likes of Tom Robinson, Professor Elemental, Neal X (guitarist of Sigue Sigue Sputnik, The Montecristos, Marc Almond band), and Fey Pink, and has received strong radio support from the likes of Gideon Coe, Tom Robinson, and Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 6 music.
