UK

From somewhere we don't know where ( well we do really but it sounds better ) its probably best to allow these guys who do covers of some very famous songs and are huge fun .. just ask and we'll try and bring their unique brand of music to you ...

Phil Doleman

Phil bought a ukulele on a whim about 4 years ago. It was rubbish and sat on top of his wardrobe for months until he discovered the wonders of internet ukulele forums (fora?). Taking advice and inspiration from the players he encountered there he bought a playable uke and soon fell in love with the instrument. He also came across a uke player called Ian who lived only a few miles away. Outside of The Re-entrants he is a solo singer/songwriter/guitarist (see www.phildoleman.co.uk). He was also the banjo playing bit of the band 4-4-2 who had a number 2 hit in 2004. He promises not to play it.

Ian Emmerson

Ian has a lot in common with Phil. As well as also being too tall for his hair, Ian fell in love with the uke a couple of years ago, after receiving one as a 'joke' Christmas present. And the similarities don't end there: away from the Re-entrants, Ian also writes his own stuff, sings, plays the guitar and the banjo. Weird, eh? Although he's never played on Top of the Pops, he did sing twice on national TV with Russell 'The Voice' Watson, and was once on 15 to 1.

Together they are The Re-entrants, probably the UK's finest ukulele-based pop/rock covers duo.
