PASSION TARANTA is a quartet of talented Artists consisting of 3 young musicians and a superb dancer; all of whom form a brilliant stage spectacle for the smallest to the biggest of stages, epitomizing all that Pizzica from a very special region of Italy often danced to in the towns and villages of Southern Italy this is a vibrant wild sound... plus not only are we able to offer full concerts but also in some circumstances dance workshops .. the band work everything from festivals to arts centres.

we are able to offer them in all territories with the exception of Italy and Scandinavia as we work with our partners at Trio Amigos.

Passione Tarranta are...

Consuelo Alfieri (vocals, accordion and guitar), Celeste Macchia (violin, vocals), Samantha Monteforte (tambourine, vocals) and last but not by any means least Stefania Della Bona (dance, vocals and tambourine).

The band's sound embodies all the fire of the passionate soul of Tarranta, which dates back to the cult of Dionysus imported by the Greeks 3,000 years ago in Salento, evoking the Greek prophetess of trance dancing the Pizzica and women's liberation tarantate "owned" by the venomous bite of the spider. The bite or music of the Taranta, over the centuries has assumed the character of courtship and expressed the innermost feelings of the soul and all with a distinctly Italian flavor... from this amazing region.
