Award winning Dub Reggae and Jazz act Dub Colossus are the brainchild of Dubulah - guitarplayer/musician/producer/writer.

The band originally started as a joint UK/Jamaican/Ethiopian collaboration spawning three totally rave reviews and selling thousands of award winning albums - A Town called Addis, Addis Through The Looking Glass & Dub Me Tender vol 1+2 released on Real World Records.
(Also a solo album - GUZO - by Ethiopian pianist Samuel Yirga - produced and in part co-written by Dubulah)

The fourth album release - Addid to Omega - switched the emphasis from Ethiopian music to the Jamaican side of the story, both Dub and Jazz - with guest vocals from Mykaell S. Riley (Steel Pulse/Reggae Philharmonic Orchestra), She that is PJ Higgins (Jah Wobble, Natacha Atlas), Dancehall legend Joseph Cotton, Almighty Dread and more.

On the Carib/jazz side - guests like Orphy Robinson, Harry Brown and piano supremo Robert Mitchell make appearences on cd and live.. not to overlook avante garde hero Charles Hayward (This Heat), Winston Blissett (Massive), Ben Somers, Natacha Atlas and Albert Kuvezin (Yat Kha).

Live Dub Colossus are a dub jazz and bass affair - a multi generational group - feat youngbloods like Nubya Garcia on sax and Greg Huff alongside veterens like Almighty Dread. Good for workshops.. Reggae and afrobeat mixing with dancehall and Ethiopian modes!

Soundwise - Think The Specials meet Jazz Jamaica, or Sly and Robbie backing Femi Kuti, Ernest Ranglin meet The Selector with a bit of cubano for good measure!

Skank and think whilst you dance and drink!

A joyous mash of rythmn and dancing in the museum of culture - not stuffed and behind a glass case.
