Beyond the colour is a project creation that comes from an unbridled urge to make the soul speak. A project born in the cradle of humanity, Ethiopia, in a land that tells stories with the sky and wind. Here are three artists that Ethiopia has chosen to speak for it. Beyond the Colour gives birth to a creative journey across the colours of music and dance.
Between two worlds, Michele Giuliani, Italian pianist and composer meets Fasika Hailu, Ethiopian musician and krar player a traditional string instrument and Rossella Giovannelli, a performer who gives body and shape to the sound in vocals and dance and gestures!
The three artists meet in Addis Ababa down the streets full of dust blended with herbs and spices, despite their different musical languages and backgrounds, the trio joined and fused their message, a message of tradition and modernity brought about through improvisation and composition.
Beyond the colour creates an imaginary picture where the images are drawn by the strings, the hammers, the hands and bodies of the artists tracing out a dreamlike scenario from the Mediterranean to Africa discovering a hidden rhythm of spirituality and following, as a guide, a hardly whispered voice from the land to the sky, beyond the horizon, beyond the borders, beyond the difference, in fact...
